Soul-centered productivity and What it's all about.

For decades we’ve lived in a fast-paced world where we’re always on the go. We take our lunch breaks at our desks to catch up on work. We’re taking business calls during our commute home. It’s only gotten worse over time.

The world is becoming faster, more intense, and more chaotic.

Busyness = Money = Success.

How can you enjoy that success if you aren’t taking care of yourself mentally, physically, and spiritually?

Down with “bro-y” productivity

“Bro-y” productivity is an off-shoot of hustle culture; it’s been the structure of our definition of productivity for the last 500 years.

It’s the aggressive way we get things done. It’s the idea of more. Getting more done in less time.

This type of productivity comes at a great cost.

We become burned out, lost, and disconnected from ourselves.

Soul-centered productivity is the antithesis of bro-y productivity

What the hell is soul-centered productivity? It’s productivity but done in a way that nourishes your soul. And is done in a way that makes you feel good.

It gives you the inspiration to go after your goals.

Soul-centered productivity puts YOU first. You take the time to take a holistic approach to ensure you’re nourished, inspired, and healthy.

By taking the time to take care of yourself, you become more productive.

Why is soul-centered productivity so important?

By taking the time to address your needs and ensuring you’re nourishing yourself, you boost your productivity.

Soul-centered productivity is a holistic approach that merges:

Mindset work
  • through journaling (my favorite)

Productivity
  • done by asking yourself, “Is this what’s best for me?”

Time management
  • by balancing how you spend your time, what’s important to you, and recharging

Energy
  • and increasing it by allowing yourself to disconnect and just BE and learning to value that sense of “Holy shit, why haven’t I done more of this?”

Health
  • and making sure you’re taking care of your body through physical movement and eating healthier foods, but still allowing yourself to eat what you just fucking enjoy!

How do I get started with soul-centered productivity?

The best advice I could give you is to pick an area you’re drawn to and start there!

Pick the funnest one! Or pick one that you know needs the most attention!

You’ll learn your triggers. Your likes and dislikes. What time of day you focus best at. Which foods leave your brain a little foggy. Where your time wasters are.

The journey of soul-centered productivity is a journey of self-discovery.

Tip for success

Make sure to check in with yourself weekly…at the least! Ideally, you should do a check-in once a day. This is when you’re assessing any issues coming up for you. If things are going well, GREAT! If some things need to be adjusted, this is the time to create new strategies.

You get to be a scientist of yourself!

One last thing you need to know!

I’m not saying that everyone NEEDS to quit the fast-paced hustle culture, bro-y productivity lifestyle; if it totally works for you, and you like it…by all means, stick with it! Get it!

But I’m just letting you know there’s a different way, too.
